Learning Objectives

ADVANCED TECHNIQUES for ANTERIOR ESTHETIC COMPOSITE RESTORATIONS

This intensive two-day hands-on course, led by Assoc. Prof. Bora Korkut, PhD, DDS, is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive and clinically oriented approach to anterior direct composite restorations. From treatment planning, material and shade selection to rubber-dam isolation, adhesion, additive layering techniques, finishing, and surface texturing, each clinical step will be addressed through a practical and evidence-based approach.

The course combines scientific lectures, clinical case discussions, step-by-step demonstrations, and four hands-on sessions, allowing participants to immediately apply the techniques covered throughout the program.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Plan and determine the appropriate indications for anterior composite restorations.

  • Select the appropriate composite materials, instruments, and shades for different clinical situations.

  • Master anterior rubber-dam isolation and the fundamental principles of adhesion.

  • Perform diastema closure using additive monochromatic layering techniques.

  • Restore anterior crown fractures using additive polychromatic layering techniques.

  • Perform a direct composite veneer on a discolored tooth.

  • Master finishing procedures, primary morphology, and surface texturing to achieve natural esthetic outcomes.

  • Identify common clinical complications and appropriate solutions.
