MASTERING WISDOM TOOTH SURGERY

Wisdom tooth surgery is one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures in daily clinical practice, yet impacted third molars can present significant surgical challenges.

Led by Prof. Dr. Jason Motta Jones, DDS, MSc, Oral Surgeon, F.E.B.O.S., this course provides a structured and clinically oriented workflow for performing wisdom tooth surgery safely, efficiently and with minimal tissue trauma and patient discomfort.

Participants will explore the complete surgical pathway, from digital diagnosis, segmentation and surgical planning to instrument selection, flap design, ostectomy, conventional and guided odontotomy, tooth luxation, surgical site revision and suturing.

Through clinical case presentations and Full HD Re-Live surgical videos, each stage of the procedure will be analyzed step by step, with particular attention to clinical decision-making, prevention and management of complications, and pharmacological considerations.

The goal is simple: to provide clinicians with a clear, reproducible surgical workflow that can be confidently integrated into daily clinical practice.

By the end of this masterclass, participants will be able to:

  • Perform a structured diagnostic assessment and surgical planning for wisdom tooth extraction.

  • Integrate digital diagnosis and segmentation into the treatment-planning workflow.

  • Select the appropriate surgical instruments according to the clinical situation.

  • Plan and perform appropriate flap design and soft-tissue management.

  • Understand the principles and clinical execution of ostectomy and odontotomy.

  • Apply conventional and guided tooth-sectioning techniques according to case complexity.

  • Perform controlled tooth luxation, surgical site revision and suturing.

  • Understand the fundamentals of pharmacological management associated with wisdom tooth surgery.

  • Identify, prevent and appropriately manage the most common surgical complications.

  • Analyze real surgical procedures through Full HD Re-Live surgical videos and translate these protocols into daily clinical practice.
